The Moonah

The Moonah Tree

Do you ever dare to dream? You see I often do and the scary thing is they do come true. So this morning when I woke up I had butterflies and excitement buzzing around in my tummy. Rudy and I have been looking at real estate lately, here, interstate and overseas and have been in search of some clarity. Well, last week it came in a dream and it's lingering. It's not really that freaky, it's really very simple. It's all about a tree, The Moonah tree....I love their contortion, charm and personality. Any tree that roots itself in sand I will instantly fall in love with!

My Tuesday

Stoked the fire up nice and early this morning...nothing like hopping out of the shower to warm embers! I'm not a great one for eating in the morning but I need to otherwise I'm waning by 11 so I made myself some yogurt with blueberries, raspberries and blackberries that we picked a few months ago and popped into the freezer, added some flaked almonds and wholla, brekky down the hatchet and energy to go! My mission today is to finish one of my major assignments for college which includes 4 elevations of a house that I've already drawn....mission ALMOST accomplished but then the sun came out and I just had to duck down to the local CFS op-shop for a peek. Couldn't believe my eyes when I found this little beauty sitting ever so lonely on the shelf. I love the colour and the scalloped edge and chocolate brown trimming is gorgeous.
Luckily I had a spare base in the cellar and on she went!

Pink brekkie, easier to eat then BROWN toast!

I also found this darling of a retro number with milky plastic handles...great size and couldn't resist!

Loving the colour for winter

Thick crochet bag

And last week in Stirling Karen picked this lovely black crochet bag up and put it back down and kindly directed me to it. It had an awful chrome buckley thing on the front which I ever so carefully took off as I thought it might all unravell but it was stitched in separately. Looks much better now without it. Why do people put gordy things on an already gorgeous bag?

at my place

So. My jaw has been killing me of late...same old same old and I haven't felt like eating, just no appetite, something to do with the pain I would say. A real pleasure killer, so I need yummy soft food and this vegetarian lasagne was last night's left-over. I also shredded beetroot and carrots, squeezed lemon juice and cumin over it and that was tonight's delish softish treat for me!

Like I said "found some little gems"

How cute are they? I remember I was petrified as we were sitting in a gondola and looking at Ky who instantly calmed me down with those gorgeous eyes!

This is one of Ky's favourite pastimes

He used to "just walk and walk and walk" in his only little world....best kid to go tramping with, never asked "Are we there yet?"

Then there was the climbing.....like a little mountain goat,

with little Avy not far behind! (Remember this top, Wen? It was Zja zja's)

Afternoons laying in the tall grass....Arthurs Pass

And collecting pure, pure water
How yummy are they? Of course I'm going to say that but I also remember how carefree those days were when our kiddies were that small. So inquisitive, innocent and unassuming....

Moment Captured

Rudy and I have been packing and repacking boxes recently and found an old hard drive with fabulous photos on it from early in the new millenium. We sat for hours looking at them over a few too many stouts which made us delirously sentimental and filled our home with lots of laughter and tears! I think I will feature some photos as snippets over the next few weeks as part of a personal journey.

Loved this trip
