Chillies

Back where he feels most at home in Wanaka just last week
Whilst I lay in bed this afternoon sick with the flu I heard quite a commotion in the kitchen and was wondering what was going on. My amazing boy had made me a chilli and garlic laden Mexican meal to help fight the dreaded lurgy. I couldn't quite get through it all but wow the chillies packed a punch and should do the trick! The nicest thing of all is that he is going out for tea tonight so he went to all of that trouble just for ME!

Chilli con carne, salsa, guacamole and corn chips made by Ky tonight

Tranquil

I'm loving the colours of this beautiful bedroom and with our trip to Vietnam fast approaching I'm jotting down notes in anticipation of the delights I might find......fabrics of course and handwoven rugs. Isn't the linen that encases the bedends just divine? It really neutralises the space along with the white, cool floors. I'm also loving the simple blends of the more "formal" florals and chandelier with the ethnic basket, bedside table and rug. Very eclectic! Did you notice the antler light fittings in the mirror opposite the chandelier? What a lovely combination, so well executed.

It's all about the trimmings!

The Sartorialists over at http://www.thesartorialist.blogspot.com/ has nailed it again with her amazing photos of the winter lines in Europe. Some fabulous ideas for my up and coming season in the Adelaide Hills and abroad. More on that later!

Jumping the Gun

Okay, I have a confession to make. When it comes to Autumn/Winter fashion I absolutley adore Gucci. Totally ridiculous I know as I don't have a money tree growing in the backyard and am not planning on planting one either but hey, I'll find another way to fulfil my hearts desire! Last year I was coveting one of Gucci's navy feather coats. Very luxurious, the colour was like that of a vibrant bird.....just to die for really. Anyway I never really thought about it again as I thought no one would reproduce such an item on this side of the world but I was mistaken. The fabulous MAX store in NZ must have seen this masterpiece and made a much smaller version, a navy feather vest, which when I saw in the store immediately zoned in on and was going to walk out with at whatever the cost! So some dreams do come true and it's one of my favourite winter pieces and whenever I wear it my friends all stroke my shoulders and back as the feathers feel so beautiful.
My gorgeous daughter was parousing the fashion houses and ALERTED me to the above coat. It's really all about the COLOUR that stunned me. What do you think my chances are of finding this one? I was thinking perhaps the Chinese might do something similar and will be on the lookout. Any suggestions?
